iNDX CO+ Update (Mar 30-Apr 12): A new revenue stream just opened-most aren’t paying attention. Join my Zoom office hours if you need help.
Summary
I’ve been sending you tasks to improve your findability. First was the Master Framework for SEO/GEO, then the Personal Identity Document (PID) Template. There’s a lot in both-don’t rush it. Just keep moving forward methodically.
Now I’m sending something new-and I didn’t expect this to be necessary this soon. The landscape for a new economy is emerging at lightning speed. This one is about new revenue.
A market has already formed where AI agents are buying from each other. It’s called Machine Payments Protocol (MPP)-part of headless commerce and HTTP 402 (other terms you will be hearing more about).
Simple idea: you create a product (data or a service), and an AI agent can buy it-no human involved. Anyone can do this.
This is now real. A marketplace launched in March by Stripe and Tempo already saw 31,000+ transactions in its first week across 894 agents, with prices ranging from $0.003 to $35 per request. See it in action: https://mpp.dev/services This is completely legitimate and you can already see major corporate and government MPP-enabled services listed.
So what’s the opportunity?
Start thinking about the data you already generate every day, or have access to through what you do.
- If you’re a retailer or brand, you have purchasing patterns, seasonal demand shifts, and regional preferences.
- If you’re a river guide, you might know water levels and wildlife activity.
- If you run events or a club, you see participation trends.
- Even as an individual paddler, you’re sitting on GPS tracks, conditions, water temps, fish activity, and bird sightings.
- Imagine every time you drop your boat in the water, a sensor you installed automatically starts collecting water quality data.
- Imagine it is not just your boat, but the boats of 5, 10 or 100 others you know, and you are the one aggregating all the data and capturing the revenue.
- All of that “data exhaust” is now a product. Many of us likely already have data collected. It’s revenue just sitting there.
It can be anonymized, packaged, and exposed through an API-and AI agents will buy it in milliseconds. This is a new layer of the economy where both companies and individuals can create products that never existed before.
Here’s what I want you to do:
Open up a chat with ChatGPT or Claude. Paste this email in for context. Then tell it where you live, what you do, and what your daily activities look like. And, attach your own Personal Identity Document (PID) for even deeper reference about you, what you have and what you know
Ask it…“In context of what I am copying in, and the attachment so you know more about me, please help me answer the following”:
- What data could I collect that AI agents would pay for?
- What services could I offer based on what I know?
You’ll probably get a long list. Start there.
The people who move early will have a real advantage-but you don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m proposing a broader initiative with the PTC so we can collaborate and crowdsource around opportunities like this. Until that takes shape, I don’t want you getting stuck or overwhelmed. Ideas like this are too important to sit on. I have Zoom open office hours-just drop in. My calendar is here: https://eddiesoehnel.com/scheduling/.
If you prefer one-on-one, let me know and we’ll schedule it. This email list is a small group, and I’m happy to speak with each of you directly.

If you can’t say what problem your brand solves, AI won’t either
Clear problem definition is now foundational for AI visibility. If your brand messaging is vague, AI systems won’t understand or surface you-making positioning and clarity a direct driver of discoverability.

Study: trying to rank for specific AI search prompts may be futile - do this instead
Targeting specific AI prompts is unreliable. The winning approach is broad topical authority and “fan-out” content strategies that allow AI systems to connect your brand across many query paths.
