iNDX CO+ Update (Apr 13 - Apr 26): A powerful new AI findability tool to analyze your website

Email Summary

I am seeing a lot of recycled content around GEO lately, so only a few links to repost. The first one from Cloudflare is a genuinely useful tool to consider as you prepare your website for findability.

A few other items.

Keep working on your PID!

I continue to develop the iNDX systems for findability. You’ll be able to submit your personal identity document (PID) to get matched with others. But the system only works if many of us participate.

Please work on your own document and encourage others to do the same. Since this email is going to paddling industry members, share it within the industry so we can build real concentration.

I cannot emphasize how important it will be for AI to find each of us individually and match us based on what we need and what we have. This will unlock so much latent, hidden value for each of us and our economy.

This is one of those levers that if pulled, will unleash massive economic leverage. But we all have to participate.

This Email List Has Been Migrated

I’ve migrated off Gmail to a dedicated email broadcast system. This email is being sent from it. I installed ListMonk, an open-source email platform better suited for the AI era, on my own server and moving all my lists away from Mailchimp. I have a repository for my system that includes the functionality I require, installation instructions, the technical environment I use and my workflows. It is publicly available at https://projects.eddiesoehnel.com/adminprojects/email-campaigns-prod-app.

I am doing several important things for the AI era. First, I am moving more toward open-source apps. Second, I am moving away from cloud hosting. SaaS products and cloud hosting are becoming prohibitively expensive. There is an explosion of open-source apps to choose from. I have also rebuilt some SaaS products myself using AI. Many SaaS companies will struggle to retool for the AI era due to sunk costs.

I also built my own mini edge data center with battery backup, redundant internet connectivity, and my own servers housed in server racks on my farm. My costs have dropped significantly, control has increased, and my data is private.

It is surprisingly easy, especially with AI as your assistant. I am technical, so I can do this, and I don’t necessarily recommend most people going to the extent I did, but there are practical steps you can take to lower costs and increase control.

Student Enrollment Declines By 2031

I get a lot of information funneled to me daily to help me read where things are going. This goes into a database I built. Here is one item that really floored me; take a look and consider how it might affect you in the coming years.

This is student enrollment declines by 2031 by state. For some states, the numbers are so big that the primary and secondary order effects will be extensive. Via https://bellwether.org/publications/how-student-enrollment-declines-are-affecting-education-budgets/?activeTab=2
